The father of the Protestant Reformation that broke first the Spiritual and then the Temporal Power of the Pope was the White German Saxon, Martin Luther.  The day commencing that glorious spiritual revolution was OCTOBER 31, 1517, now made famous by the infamous and ungodly Halloween celebration.  May we be kind to the little children coming to our homes on pagan Halloween Night, give them a tract about the Lord Jesus telling them of his wondrous love for them evidenced by His substitutionary death for their personal sins at Calvary according to the true Gospel.  May we also give them a decent, organic, commercially packaged snack—no white sugar!

A few of Luther’s 95 “Theses” are reviewed.  The subsequent confrontation of Luther with Cardinal Cajetan at Augsburg—as a result of those “Theses”—is read from John Dowling’s masterpiece, The History of Romanism (1845).  Dowling narrates a riveting story detailing God’s deliverance of his servant, Martin Luther.  Luther’s German Bible would be used by the risen Lord Jesus Christ to break the Spiritual and Temporal powers of the Pope of Rome, and ultimately bring the world out of the Pope’s Dark Ages into the liberty of the Modern Era in 1648. That liberty would birth the Bible-based Republic of Geneva, the Bible-based Dutch Republic, Cromwell’s Bible-based Commonwealth of England and the AV1611 Bible-based American Federal Republic (1787-1868), the heart and soul of Western Civilization!
